ABOUT BLACKTHORN TIMBER
Blackthorn Timber Windows is family-run business established in 2009 by Duncan and Caroline Forster and supported by an excellent team of really dedicated people, from the joiners who install the windows and doors to our surveyors, sales and customer service people.

We also offer high-quality ‘Timber Alternative’ uPVC windows and French doors, composite entrance doors and aluminium windows and doors through our Blackthorn Choices brand.
We are able to offer an unrivalled selection of timber windows and doors because we have forged alliances with 7 different joinery manufacturers, all of whom offer something different from the rest. This gives us access to a tremendous breadth of product designs and characteristics such that whatever we are asked to replace, we are confident we will be able to supply it without having to compromise the original aesthetics of the original window or door.
But one thing unites all our manufacturers and that is Quality. All of them operate Quality Assured manufacturing systems to ensure a consistent and high level of product quality, year after year. So, although everything they manufacture is made-to-measure and to a specification of our customers’ choice, they have a clear, written statement of how that wooden window or door should be made and they stick to it. And that’s why all our manufacturers offer comprehensive warranties on all their products.
Although our windows and doors are made by others, we take full responsibility for the quality and performance of the joinery from the minute we receive it and throughout its service life under the terms of our warranty. We are a one-stop shop. It is quite possible that 2 or sometimes even 3 different joinery manufacturers would supply wooden windows and doors to the same project - it all depends on what represents the best fit for our customers.
In addition to the quality of our timber doors and windows, our installation teams provide a first-class service with a level of attention to detail rarely found in this kind of industry today.

No pressure, no hassle
We have a NO PRESSURE approach to meeting customers and we always send written quotations following a visit. We understand that these projects sometimes take a while to get off the ground and we know that our customers don't want to be hassled so we simply send the quotation and wait. Some customers come back within a week, others take a month or even a year and that's fine.
