Timber Doors

We provide a wealth of information on our website about timber doors, but we'd be happy to visit your home or arrange a call-back.

We have a no pressure approach to meeting our customers and we always send written quotations following a visit. We understand that these projects sometimes take a while to get off the ground and we know that our customers don't want to be hassled so we simply send the quotation and wait. Some customers come back within a week, others take a month or even a year and that's fine.

Below you'll find a selection of work we have undertaken in the Yorkshire area, supplying and fitting timber doors.

Made To Measure Door with Stained Glass in North Yorkshire

This made to measure door is virtually identical to the one replaced - the stained glass is actually from the original - but with the benefit of enhanced security and thermal performance.

The stained glass has been repaired, rebuilt and encapsulated inside a double-glazing unit to protect it for years to come.

Harrogate French Doors

Beautifully under-stated is the best way to describe these slender, tall French Doors. Standing a full 2.5m tall, the narrow timber glazing bars divide the glass up into 5 'panes' which helps to keep everything looking in-proportion.

Multi-point locking is operated through the satin chrome 'Swan' handles and the spray-painted colour French Grey looks great against the Yorkshire gritstone building.

Another Lovely Wooden Door in York

We love this door! The soft sage green colour set against the bright white of the brickwork and the terracotta floor tiles. This was a summer installation in York.

This is a panelled entrance door which comes with high-security multi-point locking as standard. In this case, we've installed an auto-lock which engages when the door is closed so the user always knows their door is locked. Traditional brass ironmongery gives the door the period look in-keeping with the property whilst the weather-seals and timber panels boost the insulation to eliminate the previous cold zone just inside the doorway.

Contemporary Door in Hardwood

Most of our doors are very traditional in their appearance so it is nice to get requests for a much more contemporary design. This door makes for a very impressive entrance to this new-built house down in West Yorkshire. The door leaf is about 1 metre wide so the long push-bar helps to control the weight as it opens and closes and the twin side-lights bring all of the necessary daylight into the entrance hall.

Traditional Timber Door with Contemporary Colouring

This is a grooved door with a small vision panel that we installed in the spring of 2016 in North Yorkshire. The sunburst fanlight above this door gives it a traditional look in contrast to the bright colour which is by Little Greene Paunt Co. 'Spearmint'. As always, the door is highly insulating and very secure with 6 security points around the frame.

New High Security Front Door in Sheffield

Although this lovely house in Sheffield is only about 15 years old, the windows were on their way out and the timber front door was draughty and offered poor insulation. We replaced it with this completely weather-tight, warm and very secure door which has parallel vertical grooves, a shaped double-glazed 'vision panel' and polished chrome handles and letter-plate. The door frame is white whilst the leaf is finished in our heritage green 'Muted Olive'.

These doors offer an insulation value even better than a triple-glazed unit and the hallway is now an even temperature throughout rather than an 'ice-box' in winter.
