CAN TIMBER WINDOWS BE DOUBLE OR TRIPLE GLAZED?
Timber windows can be double- or triple-glazed – where necessary they can still be single glazed too.
Double-glazing incorporates Low-emissivity glass, warm-edge spacer bars and Argon gas into glass units varying from 12mm thick upto 28mm. Where triple-glazing is required for additional thermal insulation this can easily be accommodated into units ranging from 36-44mm in depth.
Often we are removing old single glazed windows where double-glazing will provide around a 70% improvement on heat and sound insulation – this is usually enough of a benefit.
