TIMBER WINDOWS ALNWICK
Blackthorn Timber Windows supply and install timber windows within the Alnwick area, and we offer the most comprehensive range of wooden windows in quality softwood or hardwood.

We provide a wealth of information on our website about timber windows, but we'd be happy to visit your home or arrange a call-back.
We have a no pressure approach to meeting our customers and we always send written quotations following a visit. We understand that these projects sometimes take a while to get off the ground and we know that our customers don't want to be hassled so we simply send the quotation and wait. Some customers come back within a week, others take a month or even a year and that's fine.
Below you'll find a selection of work we have undertaken in the Alnwick area, supplying and fitting timber windows.
Hardwood Pivot Windows
Is it me or does this house look a little surprised???
Our brief was to supply and install fully-opening, double-glazed, round timber pivot windows to replace some old single-glazed ones.

The resulting windows fitted the bill perfectly and come with a multi-point locking system that clamps the sash tight to the weather-seal - something that is important in north Northumberland.

Dual-colour timber casement windows near Alnwick

When we saw these stormproof casement windows in production we were worried about the colour being too dark, but set in the cream-rendered walls of this very individual house in the Northumberland National Park, they work very well. Strong colours are great for the outside of a property but don't often go well inside the house so here our customer opted for a dual-colour finish with white on the inside.
Meanwhile the horizontal timber glazing bars retain the original art deco style of the property.

Energy Efficient Glass in these Sash Windows
The fine winter weather is reflected in the energy-efficient glass in these fully finished Redwood sash windows and high security timber door installed in a lovely old cottage in Bamburgh, near Alnwick, Northumberland.

The property is part of a terrace where we installed a mirror-image set of windows and doors in 2010. You can just make out the reflection of Bamburgh Castle in the door glass which shows that the location is close to the sea but the robust double weather seal on the windows will cope with the winter storms very well indeed.
