Restoration Project In Cumbria
This wonderful house, set in parkland in North Cumbria, near Carlisle, was undergoing extensive refurbishment when we were asked to replace the very tall sliding sash windows overlooking the front garden. Measuring 2.4m tall the impressive centre windows took rather a lot of manoeuvring to get them into position! As is often the case, the home owners had put up with aluminium secondary glazing for many years before they finally decided that the awkward operation and unsightly appearance of grey aluminium internal frames just had to go.
Once again we took the trouble to ensure that the appearance of the new windows was exactly the same as when the old windows were in-place. Internally, such large bay windows demanded a lot of specialist joinery work to finish off the installation and make it sit harmoniously with the original timber panelling above and below.
Double Glazed Slimline Sliding Sash Windows
Slimline sash timber windows have all of the external aesthetics of the traditional sliding sash timber window, but in a slimline frame.
The flexible water-based micro-porous paint won't flake or crack as it ages, keeping the timber beneath it protected for years. Repainting is simplicity itself, usually requiring no more than a quick rub down with fine glass-paper and re-coating with top-coat.
