TIMBER SLIDING SASH WINDOWS
I really like this photograph of one of the timber sliding sash windows fitted into a 19th Century stone-built house in York.
You can see that the owners have lovingly restored their home and maintained the character of a Victorian-age house whilst adding the benefits of modern life. The double glazed sash windows will not only be draught-proof (no rattling sashes or warm air leaking out) but will reduce heat loss through the glass by 70%. This means no more cold zones close to the windows and an even temperature across the rooms.
